Using Ripple Effects Mapping to understand the longer-term impacts of delivering a dance programme for older adults on dance artists
This program explores the experiences of the dance artists performing in the Dance On program, which involves inactive older people aged 55+. Cascading mapping was used to explore the short and long-term experiences and practices of the artists in order to assess their impact at a professional or personal level. The study highlights the central role that dance artists play in supporting the outcomes that we observe in Arts and Health work; their role, expertise and engagement with programs should be further explained and supported in discussions about their practice.
