Evaluation of an online arts-based platform to support the health and well-being of older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic
A cross-sectional survey
Formative evaluation of the arts-based Art Your Service (AYS) program in order to determine the program's potential for improving older adults' social and physical well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants provided feedback on their perceptions and experiences of the AYS program, such as its impact on their health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic, the benefits and challenges of participation, and any suggestions for program improvement. Program participants reported a high satisfaction rate (95%) and a perceived positive impact on their health and well-being. Program sessions were perceived as well-organized, convenient, and safe with regard to mutual and social interaction during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a sense of connectedness and reduced feelings of social isolation. The majority of participants (75%) reported that the program improved their physical health.
