Dance intervention programs and their health benefits in school children: systematic review
Dance programs have been shown to be effective in promoting general health in children and adolescents between 3 and 14 years of age. The aim of this systematic review was to analyze this discipline and the health benefits it provides to those who practice it. A comprehensive search was conducted in four electronic databases: Web of Science, Scopus, MEDLINE and Proquest. The search terms used were: "Dance", "Intervention", "Health", "Children", and "Adolescents". In total, 15 studies were included in the systematic review. After analyzing the results, it was concluded that dance practice can lead to improvements in all areas, the most studied of which were those related to physical health, especially with the improvement of physical activity (PA) levels, body composition and cardiovascular health.
